Jaewon

I had a great time working with Jaewon! 😄 He has a very warm and patient personality that makes conversation feel easy. Additionally, he’s an interesting guy since he’s a writer! In class, he asked questions that prompted me to speak and shared his own thoughts as well, which really made it feel like I was chatting with a friend. He’s also very flexible and encouraged me to choose the conversation topics. In our last class, we checked out some online slang that I was curious about. In this class, we discussed how Koreans celebrate 설날 and Valentine’s Day, since I wanted to know how their customs differ from American ones. It’s easy to learn when the topics are related to your interests! Throughout the conversation, he typed out relevant words and expressions and was happy to explain any sentences I didn’t understand. I left class feeling like I had learned so much. I highly recommend working with him! ^^

Jaewon was such a pleasure to learn from today. He has a very warm personality that made it easy for me to speak without worry. He was very helpful with giving me more natural ways to express my thoughts. I especially enjoyed that he mainly spoke in Korean, which was encouraging for me as a learner. During the second half of class, we went over some Korean videogame dialogue and social media posts that I had found beforehand. I had struggled to understand their meanings before class, but he explained things well, even using examples to help me understand. I had a great time!
