Fifteen lessons in and I’m extremely grateful for the extraordinary help, patience, and support! When we first started back in August, I asked Satoko先生 to do a full review of beginner level grammar with me. We are almost done with the first Genki book now and I really couldn’t be happier with the progress and the improvement! The homework corrections have been invaluable, as well as the grammar explanations and exercises (I love the creative exercises that Satoko先生 comes up with!). Not to mention the fact that Satoko先生 always leaves time and space for conversational practice and questions! Thanks to this exceptionally supportive atmosphere, I could really start talking freely and confidently (well, to the best of my abilities and most importantly — despite all the mistakes and lacking vocabulary 😅). We still have Genki II ahead of us, but I’m already looking forward to starting Quartet together with Satoko先生! 心からありがとうございました！復習のレッスンは本当に役に立ちました。先生のおかげで日本語が上達して、とても嬉しいです。

Another really fun lesson with Satoko-さん! Today we talked about our families and some of our favorite places to visit. We even had a surprise guest show up during the lesson, which made it even more memorable! It was a really fun lesson, and I always enjoy getting to practice Japanese while having great conversations. I’m already looking forward to our next lesson!

Another really fun lesson with Satoko-san! We shared stories about different restaurants, sports, and different weather events. Another fun lesson with Satoko-san! Today we talked about the movies we like, different types of music, and the seasons and weather. Our lessons are always so much fun that the time seems to fly by. I really enjoy being able to practice Japanese through conversations about everyday topics, and I’m looking forward to our next lesson!

Today was my fourth lesson with Satoko-sensei and I'm extremely grateful for her extraordinary help and support! I asked her to work through Genki I with me and review all the grammar points, and I'm very happy with the way the lessons are structured. We do grammar exercises and Satoko-sensei explains the material clearly, but she also readily answers all the questions that I've accumulated during my previous self-study. I also get plenty of opportunities to try speaking freely, even though it's still very difficult for me. But Satoko-sensei encourages my attempts at conversation in such a positive and empathetic way! I'm also tremendously grateful for her homework corrections and explanations. I really couldn't be happier with our lessons. Thank you so, so much!
