Lia

I've had a few classes with Lia and am extremely impressed by her skills as a teacher. She is very friendly, adaptable to your level, and make lessons thoroughly enjoyable. I plan on continuing our lessons well into the future.

Lia is an amazing teacher. My daughter (12) has been learning with her, a couple of times a week, for about two years and she has made wonderful progress. Until now, she had been focussed on speaking but not she is also working on her reading and writing.

Sometimes I feel like I’m rushed when speaking like we don’t have a lot of time.

I have completed 20+ lessons with Teacher Lia and I can advise anyone who is looking for well structured, fun and insightful Chinese classes to give Teacher Lia a try. I am getting a deeper understanding of what I’m learning which is priceless.

This teacher is truly exceptional. She explains grammar concepts clearly and thoroughly, demonstrates great patience and understanding, answers all questions thoughtfully, and skillfully guides the class throughout the lessons.

I will say that being able to support, defend, state, argue my opinion and viewpoints to where other people can observe that you sound natural is a goal of mine. And, you definitely have progressed me further to that goal. Her ability to hold a conversation and even encourage conversations when I felt like wasn’t completely doing my part to engage in the conversation. Mixing English and Chinese was a genius idea and has boosted my conversational skills. Each lesson uses different materials. Most of the material seems to come from a textbook. It seems a large portion of the time we are on a word doc writing phrases and vocabulary. It seems that we stay on one central topic for a week and use different materials and learn revolving around the central topic. This is fine and suitable. Audio recording, books, pictures, textbooks, baidu, videos, catalog of notes from the beginning of the very first class. The curriculum is good I guess, I don’t know andragogy I only know pedagogy. 89/100
