Lukas

I began studying conversational German with Lukas more than two and a half years ago. Although I had previously studied basic German grammar and writing, my conversational skills were limited because, in large group sessions, there were simply not enough opportunities to speak. For that reason, I sought out a professional instructor who could improve both my speaking ability and my self-confidence in German. I struck gold with Lukas! He is bright, experienced, professional, and most importantly, he makes German learning fun and motivating. Each lesson is tailored to my needs and interests. Before each lesson, I receive learning materials that provide both the necessary background and vocabulary to enable me to discuss the topic at hand and to make our conversations enlightening and thought-provoking. It is truly a pleasure to learn German with Lukas, and I look forward to many more sessions with him in the future.

Lukas brings tremendous professionalism, energy, and preparation to each lesson, customizing activities and readings according to his students' interests. I'm so impressed and grateful! Each lesson is organized through a Google doc with separate sections for vocabulary, corrections, and substantive questions organized around a theme, e.g. dance, sports, AI, current events. Homework is assigned through iTalki Plus and optional writing exercises in the doc, which are then corrected during the next lesson.

In unserer ersten Unterrichtsstunde haben wir einen C1-Modelltest durchgearbeitet. Lukas hat mir äußerst wertvolle und praxisnahe Tipps gegeben sowie eine klare Prüfungsstrategie vermittelt. Der Unterricht war nicht nur effektiv, sondern auch sehr angenehm und interessant. Besonders schätze ich seine Freundlichkeit, Kompetenz und Geduld. Absolute Empfehlung!

During this lesson, Lukas provided a detailed lesson plan on the theme of artificial intelligence, complete with short videos, discussion questions, and a summary exercise. Discussion flowed freely—with corrections and vocabulary interspersed throughout. Lukas is a very thoughtful and creative interlocutor who listens carefully to your contributions and asks helpful questions!
