Sensei is very knowledgeable about where I am in my level! It's sometimes difficult to speak because I'm used to reading and writing. As I try to translate/remember words in my sentences in my head my speak gets cluttered but she coaxes out the sentences gently and even gives me words to improve my vocabulary and make the sentences I want to say. I'm excited to be working with her on improving my spoken (and written) Japanese and to be able to use what I have learnt to output and formulate my sentences. She even used a white board to help illustrate a few conjugations and gives very nice detailed notes on what to go over and improve for next time! 本当にありがとうございました！

Eu estudo Japonês desde pequeno no Brasil, com familiares, em Kenjinkais, e também estudei particular e no Bunkyô na Liberdade. Mas nunca fiz progresso tão rápido quanto como tenho feito com a Mari Sensei. As aulas são super dinâmicas e interativas, o que ajuda muito já que estudar idiomas já adulto e trabalhando é bem difícil. Mari Sensei tem muita paciência, e muita mas muita experiência. As vezes há partes de bunpô ou vocabulário que é difícil de explicar para alguém que fala Português ou Espanhol. Mas ela sempre tenta explicar de duas, três, etc, formas diferentes, ou utiliza experiência que ela teve com outros alunos para criar um modo de ensino diferente. Antes de começar a estudar com a Mari Sensei eu estava estudando por conta para o JLPT N3, mas não compreendia muito mangá, jornais, anime, filmes, e conversas do dia a dia, mesmo conseguindo fazer os testes de exemplo do JLPT. Agora não me preocupo tanto com a JLPT e senti minha compreensão melhorar muito e rápidamente.

It has been awesome to have Suzuki Sensei. We have a lot of fun conversations, and she encourages me to speak as much as I can and properly explains everything to me. I am truly enjoying having her as my teacher! 本当にありがとうございました！

I took the intensive 10-session course. My Japanese is at an advanced level, and I have a hard time finding teachers who can meet my needs. With Mari-sensei, however, I didn't have to worry about anything. She spent time asking about and understanding my goals, and then came up with a highly detailed course structure and evaluation rubric, completely customized for me. I felt like I was in capable hands from the moment we started working together. She has a great personality too, and a lot of empathy for her students. She always brought a great energy to our sessions, making me more eager to learn. She could tell when I was afraid to make mistakes, and encouraged me to let go of my fear. And even though I can sometimes be a pedantic learner, she always had enough patience to deal with it. I wish every learning experience I've ever had could have been more like this. Thank you, Mari-sensei!

Suzuki-sensei is an excellent teacher. She understands exactly what I want to improve and what I need to achieve it. She's creative, her exercises are fun, she's patient and full of energy. Her activities are well thought out, tailored to my needs, and go in-depth enough to address the shortcomings in Japanese I want to overcome, without ever being boring. For instance, she proposes many different exercises that are straight to the point, which makes the class content diverse. The materials and platforms we use for the class are very efficient. I always look forward to the class. I have seen significant improvements in my Japanese since starting her lessons.

I enjoyed my introduction lesson. It was encouraging especially when I am shy.
