I'm James, a British English teacher specialising in speaking confidence and fluency. I work with learners who understand English but still don't feel natural when they speak. I've studied French, Chinese, Spanish, Persian, and Portuguese, so I've experienced the gap between knowing a language and using it. My lessons are built around closing that gap through real conversation, not textbook exercises. Outside teaching, I play music, go camping, and read a lot. I'm curious about people and cultures, which means every lesson ends up being an interesting conversation! I'm a certified English teacher with seven years of experience, including two years in China and five years online. I believe the best way to learn to speak is by speaking! So we won't spend time on grammar drills. Instead, we'll have real conversations about a wide range of topics. As we talk, I'll help you find more natural ways to express your ideas. Grammar and vocabulary come through the conversation, not as a separate focus. The more you talk, the more I can help you. During every lesson I listen carefully and offer you corrections and upgrades. After each session, I log what we worked on and build you a personalised flashcard deck to make sure you remember what we study long-term. I also set a short weekly voice note task and suggest podcasts, videos, or articles you'll enjoy. The goal is that English becomes part of your routine until it feels natural.
