Alex has a rare gift - he is an exceptional listener. He carries conversations effortlessly with questions that are both simple and insightful.

Having just completed a series of 20 lessons with Alex, I’d like to give my overall impression. Alex is a naturally gifted communicator, a bit of a “find-outer”. He asks interesting questions to tease out the story you’re trying to tell. Bearing in mind that language is for communication, this natural ability to listen and elicit information makes Alex an excellent language teacher. In 20 lessons, we’ve covered a wide range of topics (music, history, politics, travel, food … even jokes and gossips). It’s been a fun and rewarding experience. Thank you so much.

I haven’t written a review for a while but will post a new review to say that I have been learning French with Alex for over two and a half years now and our conversations continue to inspire, encourage and motivate me to persist with this difficult challenge of being an adult learner in a second language!
