Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about the internet and how it is useful for recommendations (things to eat, etc.). We faced a technical issue but Carmen had a solution that saved the day so that we didn't have to reschedule. Carmen always has insights into Chinese culture and trends, so her lessons are interesting and entertaining!

Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about cold weather, camping and the Chinese New Year coming up. Carmen explained about the traditions of giving money to children at the Chinese New Year. As usual, we reviewed the lesson material to practice reading and pronunciation. Carmen is using less pinyin, which is challenging me (in a good way) to be able to read better with only the Chinese characters. I always learn something interesting with Carmen!

Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about Christmas...traditions, food, etc. Carmen talked about stores decorating for holidays and offering discounts in China. We also reviewed the sentences at the end of the lesson, as we usually do. Carmen gave me positive feedback on pronunciation, which was really nice. Carmen has really helped me understand a lot and improve in an entertaining way!

Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about winter habits that people have in China. Carmen told me about the difference between the medicine store and the hospital. At the end of the lesson, we always review what we talked about. I find myself understanding more and more. Carmen tells me a lot about the culture, what people do and how they think..it's really interesting!

Great lesson with Carmen! Carmen told me about her experience eating hotpot, which was amusing. We learned many new vocabulary words. At the end of the lesson, Carmen had me read and repeat the sentences. Reading and repeating helps with listening and pronunciation. Carmen makes it easy to learn!

Great lesson with Carmen! We talked about different food, like the dried meat and fish that people make in Guangdong. We also talked about 煎饼果子, which is really popular in China..and about similar foods in the US. Carmen always has interesting topics and funny stories!
