I have just completed the 20 hour challenge with Mauro and it's been an incredible journey. I've tried learning languages before in school and using apps. When it came to everyday conversation, they were useless. Mauro's teaching method involves storytelling, comprehensible input, and teaching vocabulary within context. For me, this proved to be a more natural and intuitive way to learn. My vocabulary has grown so much and I can understand natives speaking at a normal speed. It's less about learning the language and more about getting a natural feel for how Spanish works. For those of you who don't live in a Spanish-speaking area, this environment does a great job of mimicking immersion. I have never progressed this fast in a language. I wish that this kind of language class was more common. I think if there were more teachers like Mauro in schools, there would be fewer frustrated students and many more polyglots. I strongly recommend him!

Mauro is undoubtedly the finest teacher on iTalki! His repertoire of engaging assignments and tasks for improving Spanish is truly impressive. I never find myself bored in his classes. Mauro constantly experiments with new teaching methods to tailor his approach to each individual student. One of his latest and most remarkable techniques is the utilization of "storytelling". This approach, known as the "input method", is widely regarded as one of the most effective ways to learn a language naturally. Through this method, Mauro effortlessly introduces new vocabulary in every lesson and seamlessly corrects errors through organic conversation, confirmation, and guidance within the context of the story. The best part is that it never feels like studying; it's an enjoyable and immersive experience.

Mauro is a great teacher. He is kind and creates a nice learning environment. Great with stories and keeping the conversation going.

I have been learning with Mauro for about a month and a half now and he is the BEST language teacher I've ever worked with. I am travelling shortly and I needed someone who could help me get to a basic level as fast as possible. I knew I would have to put in the work outside of the lessons and apply what I was learning, and I absolutely did. The result? I came from knowing nothing to being able to have a basic conversation in about 30 lessons. I look forward to every lesson because he makes every lesson engaging, exciting, and honestly hilarious. He places a large emphasis on speaking which is the most important and difficult thing to learn. Unlike other teachers, time is not wasted on useless grammar exercises and one-way dialogue. It is all interactive. His method of learning via storytelling works wonders and I can't recommend it enough. If you want to learn efficiently and have a great time doing it, look no further. Mauro is the king! Un profesor extraordinario.
