I was born profoundly deaf in India, but I didn’t learn ASL until I was 20. I’ve visited the U.S. many times, where my deaf brother lives and where my wife is from. During those visits, I was often invited to give talks in the ASL community. These experiences shaped my deep connection to Deaf culture. ASL is the language of my heart and my family. I was invited to work as a Sign Language translator and trained in ASL translation facilities in the U.S. Over nearly six years of translating English text into clear, conceptual Sign Language, I learned how to teach in a way that feels natural and easy for Deaf learners to understand. This experience helps me recognize my students’ goals and guide them accurately. If you want a true window into the Deaf mind, I’m the right person to give you that insight. No matter your background or where you come from, my goal is to help you express yourself the way a Deaf signer naturally would—clear, fluent, and visually strong. My lessons focus on Facial Expression, Use of Space, Handshapes, Deaf Psychology, Deaf Sentence Concepts, Universal Sign Concepts, Poetic Signs, and of course, Deaf Culture.
I also encourage steady self-improvement, so I send customized weekly practice plans to help you grow outside of class.

Anir is a top-notch, high quality tutor. It was immediately obvious to me that he is an experienced tutor. He provides material which is appropriate to my level, yet challenging at the same time. This is helping me immensely to improve in the areas in which I need to grow. He has a sharp eye for detail, correcting the finer elements of my signing. He provides guidance in an encouraging and supportive way. In addition, tutoring sessions with him are fun.
