My name is Chris and I am a Canadian teacher happily living in Madrid, Spain. I have a doctorate in history and Canadian Studies from U. of Ottawa, Canada and I have taught General and Business English in Spain. Currently, I teach history and International Relations at Schiller International University. In my free time I love traveling, learning about new cultures and learning new languages. I also spend a lot of time with my family. I have three adorable children with whom I have to practice English on a daily basis.
I am very flexible and yet, disciplined. I am always focused on the student's needs and goals. I always design a plan during our first lesson to make sure that the student improves his or her English in the long run.
I am a community tutor for now but in general my lessons are fun and as interactive as possible. I can also talk on a wide range of topics but I always make sure that the students talk and practice their English much more than me.
I have very strong command of English grammar, so if you need some grammar lessons, feel free to contact me.
I also have conversation topics tailored for major tests - FCE, CAE, CPE, TOEFL, IELTS
I'm glad I found Chris as my son's teacher. Chris is very attentive, kind, and has a great rapport with children. My nine-year-old son enjoys learning English, even though he's at a beginner level, but Chris structures the lessons so he's engaged in conversation and tries to adapt to English speech. I'm confident that if my son diligently prepares for Chris's lessons and does his homework, he'll succeed and start speaking English. I highly recommend Chris.
