Hello! I’m Annie, a Jamaican TEFL teacher with 5+ years of experience helping students master IELTS speaking, business English, and fluent conversation. My business degree lets me blend practical communication skills with language training—perfect for professionals and exam-takers. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me writing poetry (yes, published!) or singing in a choir. Let’s make your English goals a reality—with confidence and a splash of Caribbean warmth!
Meine Kreationen
Ich als Lehrkraft
My goal is to help you speak English with confidence by improving your fluency. All classes are tailored to your specific needs, time, and interests. I use the communicative approach, which is based on the idea that learning a language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. Hence, classes focus primarily on conversational English. In this approach, the objective is to present a topic in context to the learner as naturally as possible, as this is a highly effective way to help the language acquisition process. However, a grammatical syllabus forms the foundation of all lessons I teach and builds a framework to help learners acquire the English language.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
Our first lesson will focus on your English goals and the creation of a specific plan to help you achieve those goals. All lessons are tailored to meet the needs of each student and are presented in a manner that allows you to feel comfortable, ask questions, and express yourself. The structure of my lessons and courses contains a functional syllabus alongside a focus on a grammatical syllabus, thus providing learners with communicatively useful expressions together with a structured syllabus with a clear sense of progression. Some lessons will have a conversational focus, where we will discuss various topics of your choice, or I can suggest fascinating topics.
