i very like Dioni,he‘s my first icelandic teacher,my english isn’t very good ,but Dioni is very patient,i believe i can master this difficult language by his teaching.

Dioni is an excellent, engaging and patient teacher! Because of his linguistics background, he is able to break down complex Icelandic grammar concepts into approachable pieces for the beginner, and then challenge you to use these concepts in ordinary conversation. He is also flexible and able to adapt his teaching and style to the student's particular goals for the lesson. Classes are always animated and fun!

I have experience with a handful of the Icelandic instructors on italki. They are all slightly different, but all fantastic. Doni is a great resource to take with you on your journey. He is kind, patient and knowledgeable. He is not a native speaker so he has already made the thousand mistakes you will. He understands the process of learning a language, specifically the human aspects of it. I highly recommend Doni if you are committed to learning Icelandic.

I decided to wait a few lessons before writing a review for Dioni. I highly recommend him as an Icelandic teacher. I had been trying to learn on my own, but his help has made learning this difficult language much easier (and more fun). He relates Icelandic to my native language, English, which helps piece things together for me. In our lessons, he challenges me enough to reveal my weaknesses so that I know what to study between sessions. Simultaneously, he is encouraging, which keeps learning a positive experience. I believe his background as a professional linguist is key to him being such a wonderful teacher.
