Hi, my name is Salvador, and I’m from a small town in California. In my free time, I love learning languages, working out at the gym, taking care of plants, and traveling. One of my greatest passions is learning about the history of different countries—I believe that understanding the past helps us understand the present. I am currently studying Korean, Tagalog, and Egyptian Arabic. For me, language learning is powerful; when you speak to someone in their native language, you connect with their heart and allow them to express themselves fully.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Second Language Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, along with minors in Spanish and French. During my time in Hawaiʻi, I had the opportunity to study multiple languages—including Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Hawaiian—which strengthened my passion for multilingualism and cultural understanding. I later completed a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction from San José State University. I have teaching experience across a wide range of grade levels, from Transitional Kindergarten (ages 3–4) through 9th grade, and I enjoy helping students build confidence and proficiency in language learning.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I incorporate visuals intentionally to support comprehension and engagement in my teaching. Having taught in a Spanish Immersion program and with English language learners, I have seen how visual supports can make language accessible for all learners. I prioritize teaching vocabulary and grammar that are relevant and meaningful to students’ lives. I learn about their interests and use authentic materials—such as articles related to their hobbies in order to personalize instruction. Additionally, I use tools like Google Docs and Google Slides to organize lessons and provide students with a centralized space for notes, activities, and study materials.
