Hello, I'm Kim and I'm a native English speaker from Birmingham, England. I'm a Cambridge Graduate with a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology. I also have Advanced Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Art; a professional qualification (HNC) in Medical Laboratory Sciences; and a First Class degree in Evolutionary Anthropology. During my degree, I never received less than a First Class mark in any assignment, and I'm keen to pass on my expertise in academic reading and writing to others.
Ich als Lehrkraft
After graduating, I taught English in Gran Canaria for a year, then trained as a Further Education lecturer and taught Advanced Level Psychology and Biology for four years whjle also working as an examiner. I want to pass on my skills in reading, interpreting and constructing academic writings, whether you are a student, currently struggling with essays and reports, or a graduate putting together a research proposal, I can help. My degree included a diverse range of subjects, including Biology, Psychology, Philosophy, Sociology, Linguistics and Archaeology, so I can help with either essay-based subjects or scientific and statistical reports.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I'm offering three types of lesson:
1. Study Support: Reading and Writing
2. Academic and General Conversation (intermediate to advanced)
3. Proofreading and Editing
I always plan my lessons, but we don't have to stick to the plan - especially for conversation classes! Each lesson is tailored to the individual student and will depend on what you need your English for. Homework is optional, but is probably a good idea - especially if you're preparing for exams - as it will accelerate your progress. That is up to you. I will often send links to interesting articles or videos, and can send a vocabulary list after each lesson if you wish.
