Hi! I’m Alex, a PGCE-qualified teacher with over six years of experience teaching in London, China, and Peru.
I’m 30 years old and, when I’m not teaching, I’m usually playing drums in my band or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. I am currently learning Mandarin myself, so I know exactly how challenging, frustrating, and ultimately rewarding the language-learning journey can be. I believe that a good teacher should be a supportive partner in your learning, not just a lecturer. During my time in China, I was proud to be awarded ‘Teacher of the Year,’ a recognition of my commitment to my students' progress and engagement.

My teaching philosophy is built around Comprehensible Input. I don’t believe in just memorising dry lists of words; I believe in learning language in context.
Immersion through Media: We will use real-world photos, videos, and articles to spark conversation and introduce new vocabulary naturally.
