We generally start the class with a general conversation, with much encouragement from Dora; but also guidance on things that may be correct but uncommon for a native to say (e.g. "nao todavia" instead of "ainda nao"). I find this extremely useful as it reinforces everyday conversation and also my confidence with speaking since she allows me to say what I am trying to say, and only after sometimes correcting me on how I say it, allowing me to flow in the conversation rather than being disrupted. Once we progress onto the lesson and learning new things, the guidance remains as well as examples of other ways to say things, as well as why something is said a certain way, diving into the cultural side of Brazilian Portuguese and its roots.

Dora es una profesora increíble y sus clases siempre son muy divertidas. Lo recomiendo muchísimo.
