I consider myself a patient and passionate teacher. I understand the struggles that sometimes come with the learning process, but I also know the rewarding results after some practice. Talking about a wide variety of topics is one of my favorite parts of teaching because, as an open-minded person, I like learning from my students' points of view about all kinds of subjects. Conversations are one of the most important elements of my classes. After some grammar, I like my students to use what they learn by speaking and making connections with their personal or professional experiences. I think grammar is important because it is a shortcut to understand the structure and patterns of a language. The tutor was very patient while she dealt with internet trouble. A few times we tried Zoom and her visuals there work very well. This week, I didn't have time to study and she didn't mind reviewing the lesson. I'm looking forward to reviewing it again as she is flexible according to the student and though I'm starting to catch on to Quiché it's very different from my language and will take me personally more time to learn.

She's very patient and very thorough. My pronunciation isn't very good with some letters, but she keeps letting me know to work on those. Also, the way of saying things with word order and pronouns has some unique surprises that she points out well. It's definitely not the sort of language that can be translated word for word. Sometimes words are repeated for emphasis, some nouns go between two words of the same part of speech. I hope that those encouraged to learn English will be given a lot of patience and fair time to learn.

I look forward to the next lesson. The teacher would coach me to really try to pronounce the sounds well. She seemed well prepared.
