I live in Exeter in the South West of England.
I am married and have two grown up sons.
I have a good business background and worked for over 25 years for IT training organisations and ran the training side of an IT business . I worked with my wife in our own home schooling business with young children and I have been teaching English for over 3.5 years.
I enjoy reading, cycling, movies, food and socializing with friends and family.
Having taken a 300 hour Advanced Professional TESOL qualification on line learning with Global English. I passed with an 90% grade A, in 2020! This included Business English modules and How to teach online.
Ich als Lehrkraft
I focus on both conversational skills and business English. I recognise the challenges that students face with pronunciation, dependant upon where they are from and their native tongue. I believe in coaching students rather than being seen as a teacher; that way I focus around how you want to learn. I am friendly, motivational and will encourage you. Any mistakes are corrected in a sensitive manner and I greatly encourage every student. I believe every student should leave each lesson, feeling motivated and they have gained confidence in their English learning.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I like to be as informal as possible and make lessons interactive, enjoyable and fun.
My main focuses are conversational lessons and Business English. I also teach using a formal and structured approach, such as specific areas of grammar and/or working through a series of lessons at a students language level. I have access to a pre-planned online lesson tool and can work through a structured book, if requested. I use videos, pictures and short news items for students to practice English. I cover all competencies; Reading Writing, Listening and Speaking and also offer exam preparation. All lessons are tailored to each students needs!
