Hi, my name is Alex, I'm from Switzerland. I like to read books, listen to music and I'm into Fashion, language history (etymology (origin) of words throughout the years)
Ich als Lehrkraft
It is important to me that the student understands the language, so I will be explaining a lot of background information (which I also had to learn and that had helped me). Like that it will be easier to remember. I'm patient and a good listener. I insist on correcting the mistakes a student will be making ( a lot of teachers, just let them slipping by, but I find it important to tell them when they make mistake, so they can learn.)
I've read and seen some videos on memory technique and how to best learn new information (spaced repetition) so I will try to include that into my teaching as well.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
A lot of those classes will probably just be speaking, but I can also prepare a PDF and we will/ can work through that together. (We should communicate first what exactly is the best method for you.) I normally try to find out what a person need in the trial lesson, so it's not a lesson with a lot of theory.
We can also work on pronunciation, on reading (reading aloud is always hard in a foreign language), conversation or grammar.
If you want to, I can assign homework, but I'd advise you to just quickly repeat what we discussed on class and you ll remember it well.
I have completed a couple of lessons with Alexandra.
There’s always “homework” for both us, and I appreciate her time invested on her side. For me that reflects a commitment.
I started from zero with German Language, and she’s been a great teacher, always bringing additional material to the lesson (which helps a lot!).

Another super helpful lesson with Alexandra. She really has a way of meeting me right where I’m at — whether it’s something I’ve been trying to learn on my own or a random question I bring up mid-lesson, she always finds a way to tie it back into the bigger picture. Today’s session was full of real-world language I can actually use, and everything felt super relevant and practical. As always, she sent over extra tools and resources that go way beyond the basics. It’s clear she puts a lot of care into making sure her students succeed.

Really enjoyed today’s lesson. Alexandra continues to do an amazing job tying together what I’ve been picking up on my own with what we’re covering in class. It makes the learning feel fluid and personalized, not like we’re just following a set program. The content today was super relevant to real-life conversations I’d actually have in Switzerland — which keeps things both interesting and practical. And of course, she followed up with more great resources I never would’ve found on my own. She puts in the extra effort every time, and it makes a huge difference.

Really solid lesson again with Alexandra. She does such a great job of tying together what I’ve been studying on my own and blending it right into our structured lessons without missing a beat. It always feels like we’re building something cohesive, not just jumping from topic to topic. The material today was super relevant and practical — stuff I can actually use when I’m in Switzerland. And like always, she sent over more useful resources to help reinforce everything. Her attention to detail and consistency really stand out.

Another strong session with Alexandra. She has a great way of building on what I’ve already been learning while still keeping the lesson structured and focused. Everything we covered felt useful and easy to apply in real situations — not just theory or memorization. What I appreciate most is how consistently she shows up prepared, explains things clearly, and sends follow-up materials that actually help me keep learning between lessons. Her teaching style is so well-rounded and thoughtful.

Another great session with Alexandra. She has such a good sense for how to take whatever I’ve been learning or noticing on my own and bring it right into the lesson in a way that actually helps everything stick. It never feels like we’re just going through a script — it’s always tailored, focused, and super applicable to real situations. Today’s lesson was full of practical language I can actually use, and she followed it up with even more useful resources and tips. She really puts in the extra effort, and it shows.
