Hello! My name is Heather and I love to teach. I also love to talk! Currently I live in the middle of the United States with my family on a small urban farm near Chicago--so my accent is American. We are originally from the New York City suburbs. I have traveled the country for my business and generally, people cannot tell where I am from because I speak very clearly and without a regional accent. I was formerly fluent in French many years ago--until I met my husband 25 years ago and was thrown into Italian. Now, I am gaining formal fluency in Italian. I know how hard it is to learn a new language! I want to make you feel comfortable but confident in your ability!

I work with teenagers through adults. I have a Master's degree in Teaching - Secondary Education. Although formal teaching is my second career, I have been teaching all of my life. I work to help my students have space to figure out answers without cutting them off, and helping them learn to calm their mind so they can think clearly to work on an answer.Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
All lesson approvals require the Contact Teacher form so I can understand your basic needs--which drive our lessons. I am able to help or practice with a formal lesson from another teacher. Some need conversational practice to gain fluency. Some are preparing for a meeting or presentation and need to be sure they are speaking clearly and correctly. I want to make sure that you present yourself at your best level of fluency both with accuracy in speaking as well as pronunciation. I have many tools available, but we will discuss your individual needs to see if you need these things and which ones are most appropriate for your situation.Mein Unterrichtsmaterial
