Hugh Luo-Tatebe

Hugh is incredibly friendly, perceptive, and intelligent. I have found he is able to customize the lesson to your needs effortlessly and with great skill, no matter how unconventional they might be. And he does so with clarity and a great sense of organization. He is truly bilingual in Japanese and English, which means you can communicate with true nuance in both languages. I think Hugh is terrific to work with, and I'm sure you will feel the same.

Hugh-san specifically prepared today’s lesson for my learning needs- today we learned a lot of sentences that don’t come up in textbooks. By doing sentence translations, I am forced to think about what I would say in everyday situations. Thanks a lot for the effort you put into (and before) our classes! I would highly recommend Hugh as a teacher

Enjoyed today’s lesson. It was comfortable and informative; I learn so much more having a human to talk to as opposed to an app. It had a good level of difficulty and it was catered toward the day-to-day conversations I would have. I also had all of my questions answered (yay).

It's again very relaxing and interesting talking with Huge-san today! Although I felt like my Japanese, Chinese, and English were fighting against each other in my brain during the class, which made me unable to speak fluent Japanese, Huge-san kept encouraging me and slowing down his speed for me. It's very kind of him. Also I really appreciate for everything Huge-san shared with me during the class, it's so lovely! Last but not the least, I'd like to thank Huge-san for giving me advice on how to speak and especially think in a foreign language. I'm looking forward to the next lesson!
