Min-J is an incredible teacher! She is very knowledgeable and skilled in breaking down concepts, grammar, etc. for you to be able to easily digest and immediately start applying them. She is also very kind and understanding and artfully explains cultural nuances as well, when needed. Whether you are wishing to learn Korean from scratch or are a heritage speaker like myself (Korean-American) who is now trying to unearth and expand on forgotten language skills, I highly highly recommend Min-J. I would say Min is the best Korean teacher on italki. Two months ago, I could only pronounce a few vowels and consonants. But now, I can understand basic conversations and answer them in Korean. I'm really surprised to see the progress I've made with Min together. She chose the most suitable textbooks based on my demands. And her lessons integrate grammar, vocabs and how to use them in real daily scenarios while encouraging you to compare cultural differences. She always keeps her lesson organised and engaging. As I'm also a Mandarin tutor on italki, I know how challenging it would be to achieve that! Another great class. After just a few days in, I feel my Korean improving greatly and becoming more and more comfortable speaking. Min-J is encouraging, humorous, and knowledgeable in many subject areas, making it very enjoyable speaking with and learning from her.

선생님 was incredibly patient, helpful, and really took the time to understand my learning needs. We came up with lesson plans that fit me perfectly, and she explained things clearly and kindly. She was also very accommodating and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way.
