Hi, I am Anke from Germany, 38 years old and currently working as a pedagogue at elementary school in Germany, Düsseldorf. Im a very patient, curious, lively and outgoing person and I love to read, spend time in nature, take photos, ride my bicyle and most of all- to travel. I have lived in China before, studied Chinese at University in Shanghai and worked as a German teacher as well as a translater and interpreter for German, English and Chinese. To learn about different cultures and languages is my passion, therefore I really enjoy studying and teaching languages.

Ich als Lehrkraft

Having a background in pedagogy as well as a degree in `Teaching German as a Foreign language` through Goethe Institut and University of Jena, I did not only gain teaching experience in working as a German teacher at Goethe Institut Shanghai but also in having various private German students, both adults and children. Having lived in China for many years, I can very well understand the struggels and difficulties of learning a new language and therefore know how to adapt my German class to your individual goals and needs. Thorough lesson planning, evaluation, exercises, sponaneity and fun is what is going to help you to improve your German quickly.

Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil

In my class the practice, improvement and development of your communication skills is going to be the main focus. In a fun and relaxed atmosphere- without having to be afraid of making mistakes- we will practice and improve your communication abilities by using various kinds of entertaining and authentic topics, excercises and materials. In that way you will be able to expand your vocabulary rapidly and develop your understanding of grammar structures. In order to practice new as well as already existing vocabulary and grammar I will provide homework on a class-to-class basis ( if your time permits :) ).

I have been learning German with Anke for two years now from A1 to B1. As a language teacher myself, I absolutely recommend her to anyone. Anke is an outstanding teacher, very enthusiastic all the time, and extremely responsible. She is very knowledgeable, prepares great classes, and always addresses the specific needs that I have as a student.
