Meika

I've been taking lessons with Mika-Sensei for three years now! It's amazing how time flies. I've been super busy with my college work as I am nearing the end of my degree program but I still love to try and make time to take Japanese lessons with Mika-Sensei and get that practice in whenever I can. It's always so much fun learning new words and phrases! Once I graduate from college, I fully plan on devoting much more of my time to learning and studying Japanese with Mika-Sensei!

To the three pillars of teaching excellence – Mastery, Clarity, and Empathy – Mika Tokunaga adds a fourth: Joy. Her joy for helping students learn Japanese is exuberant, infectious, and truly inspiring.

Mika-sensei is very knowledgable! She is very friendly and upbeat. She does a great job gently correcting my mistakes, and I like the notes she provides after lessons! Will definitely be back for more lessons :)

Mika-sensei is a great teacher! I’ve done many lessons with her and she’s always very encouraging and patient with me. We do some free talk and some grammar based on the genki books, I feel like I was able to improve a lot of because of her! ありがとうございます🙂
