I grew up speaking Czech as a heritage language at home with my mom in the United States. When I was 15 years old, I moved to the Czech Republic and realized I had a lot to learn! I worked on improving my grammar, pronunciation and language skills throughout high school while learning a lot about the culture here. I now live in South Bohemia with my dog and two chatty parrots. Languages are my passion. I'm currently learning my fourth, Vietnamese, so I understand what it's like to be a student too. I also enjoy reading, playing music, writing, drawing and horseback riding.

Ich als Lehrkraft
I have been a CELTA certified English teacher for five years and hold a DELE C1 certificate in Spanish. I've learned a lot not only from my experience as a teacher, but also from my experience as a learner. All this has helped me develop a toolbox for helping my Czech students. I'm an energetic and active person who enjoys speaking about a wide range of topics.
Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
I like to start lessons with conversation in Czech. Depending on your level, this may be supplemented with visual materials to help orient you in the conversation. I encourage my students to embrace making mistakes, as these are what we can build off of. Sometimes I will correct you in the moment, other times I will jot things down to look at later. I am happy to work with materials that you send me ahead of time, or recommend and send you my own. I am particularly fond of conversation questions and activities. Your goals are my goals and I frequently invite feedback so that our lessons are going in the direction you want.
