It was important to me that I choose a teacher who understood Arabic so that as I learn Swahili, we can access the loan words and build on my prior knowledge. Mwalimu Isa did not disappoint: He is a teacher of Arabic and our shared educational background helped me truly soar in today’s class. I plan to continue studying with him going forward, because I like the way he explains grammar, phonetics, and cultural ideas. Asante sana!
