Hi, I’m Liz! I’m from the UK and languages have always been a big part of my life. I grew up in Spain, studied Applied Languages at Portsmouth University (including a year in Wuhan, China), and earned my TESOL certificate. I speak Spanish like a native, conversational Chinese (HSK4), and a little Bulgarian. Living in different countries has given me firsthand experience of what it’s like to sound “foreign” in another language—and how powerful it feels when your pronunciation finally clicks.

My lessons are practical, hands-on, and focused on speaking clarity. I completed 120 hours of teaching at Portsmouth community college, teaching adults who were non-native speakers of English and had recently moved to the UK. Classes were all conducted in person as well as at Portsmouth University where I taught the foreign exchange students from China.
