I'm an English teacher in Adelaide, Australia. I also speak a little bit of Japanese and a tiny bit of Mandarin (I'm working on it!). I play the guitar and sing, and I'm learning the piano. I cook, I garden, I do yoga and I run.Ich als Lehrkraft
I've taught for eight years in an adult education college. I work mostly with people who have come to live in Australia from other countries, but I've also taught international students. I've taught beginners through to advanced students. As well as the basics - speaking, listening, reading, writing and so on - I've done a lot or work on resumes and preparing for job interviews. I love all levels and all aspects of English. I particular, I love working with people who have advanced English but feel that they want to iron out some of the creases.Meine Stunden und mein Unterrichtsstil
My style is dependent on what the student wants and needs. I use a wide range of reading and listening material from different sources - TV, podcasts, radio, news sites, books, songs etc. I blend careful preparation with an ability to change plans when the student has questions or something unexpected comes up. I have a focus on developing independent learning skills so that students can continue to improve on their own. I also encourage the use of recording technology to aid students in identifying and working on issues in their own speech. I have taught face-to-face and online.Mein Unterrichtsmaterial

I’m very glad to meet Ben, a very supportive and helpful teacher. He is willing to share and listen, knows how to create a friendly and pleasant atmosphere, and speaks English in an absolutely charming manner. He gave me some valuable ideas on how to improve my English further and guided me through some tough conversational situations which confused me before. Ben is so nice teacher and person. He has compassion, also understands about students who are struggling to learn. At the same time he has humor and interesting topics which each student is interested in. He makes us motivated to keep on learning.
