Hey, how's it going? My name's Carla, and I'm a native Brazilian Portuguese tutor here on italki (in addition to being a lawyer in Brazil)! I was also a writing tutor and a law tutor during college, so teaching and dealing with the Portuguese language isn't something new for me. I was already an exchange student in Canada and I speak English, I understand a little Spanish, and I'm focused on French now, but I was also a beginner student of German, and I know how the process of learning a new language is and that's why I can help you best. I have students from all over the world, and I've also met people with the most diverse interests here on italki. Therefore, I understand that each student has their own way of learning languages, because I have mine (which even changes depending on the language!), so I think it's important to adapt and offer what exactly you're looking for. Well, I prefer lighter, fun classes, in which you will feel comfortable expressing yourself however you want, but always focusing on your results. With me you will understand that it's ok to make mistakes, because they are part of the learning process, and I'm here to help you correct them. I want you to become more confident to speak Portuguese! In addition, I love to talk about Brazilian culture and history, and I also dedicate myself a lot to grammar and pronunciation. Carla is an excellent conversation tutor! She can always figure out what the heck you are trying to say, even when you've long since forgotten what the jumbled mess of Portuguese coming out of your mouth was even supposed to be communicating. She provides lots of feedback on errors and words you don't know, but the conversation does not stop and you don't feel bad for making a mistake.
I would highly recommend her as a conversation tutor! Run, don't walk, to book a lesson with her!

Carla is amazing, she's super energetic and funny, we could have been talking for hours, knows a lot about the Portuguese language, and cared to correct my mistakes in a non-invasive way. I will definitely be taking more lessons with her.
