Sun Lee

Before working with Sun쌤, I had only taken textbook-based lessons. Because of the nature of textbooks, I often just read off the page, swapped in new vocabulary/phrases when the book instructed me to, and flipped the page. The description Sun’s class mentions vocalizing & writing sentences until they become deeply internalized, and she really means that! The exercises/activities we do during class are fun and provides lots of opportunities to practice listening comprehension and speaking! And this includes speaking from the heart/memory, not relying on written text that is in front of me. I know I’m only a couple of lessons in, but I’m becoming more comfortable in speaking and applying the grammar I’ve learned in books to real-life conversations and activities. 감사합니다!

Sun is AMAZING!! I True to her name, she has a warm and bright disposition. I’ve been studying with Sun since Sept. 2022 and I always look forward to our class. Her enthusiasm is contagious! Her teaching style is very interactive and engaging. I am very picky and met with eight teachers before I found Sun. EIGHT!! I am so grateful to have met her. She’s the perfect fit for my learning goals. Since becoming her student, I have leveled up and continue to improve my Korean abilities. I am so impressed in how much I have learned in such a short amount of time. If you are looking for a friendly, patient and engaging teacher, then look no further than Sun!

Despite reading the elementary Korean grammar topics, I found it difficult to apply them onto real life conversations. Sun's lessons have been amazing! There are lots of chance to practise conversation. She is also very patient in correcting the mistakes and explaining the grammar concepts. Highly recommended to Korean learners of all levels!

Sun is the best! Originally I was very nervous about speaking Korean, but Sun is so friendly, encouraging, and patient. Our classes are so much fun and I've grown more comfortable speaking. I've been taking lessons for about eight months now and have learned so much! Our lessons are the perfect mixture of structured exercises and freer conversation. I also love that she provides notes and homework to review between lessons. So thankful for Sun! I really couldn't ask for a better teacher!

이선생님하고 한국어를 배운 지 1년 됐어요. Time has flown so quickly. When Sun and I first met in our trial lesson in April 2024, I was nervous about speaking in Korean. Though I was aware of different grammar rules from textbooks, I had trouble applying them to real-life conversations. Since I started learning with Sun, I have: grown more confident in my speaking skills, continued to apply previously known and learned new grammar points, and crafted a LOT of sentences that incorporate multiple grammar points to convey information in a way that sounds natural (AKA less textbook-like). I've also noticed an improvement in my listening and comprehension skills. (I don't translate Korean to English in my head as often as before.) I am extremely thankful to Sun--this progress was possible because of her teaching, encouragement, patience, and care. And it should also be mentioned that her warmth, energy, and humor make each class engaging. I look forward to continuing to study Korean with her. 감사합니다!

Sun is so lovely to talk to and every lesson has been the highlight of my week. Not only she does she teach well but she is such a kind and caring teacher. I feel fully supported as a student. Definitely my favourite teacher on italki~
