The rain cleared up just in time for my music class today – lucky me! All morning, Dad patiently coached me on the pronunciation of my new Japanese song. I felt confident – after all, Vivian wouldn't be able to offer much help with this one, given the language barrier. But hey, on the bright side, her pianist colleague is a huge Japanophile! He knew the song and was practically chomping at the bit to accompany me on piano. Looks like I'm the first student here brave enough to sing a Japanese song in its original language! Sounds like I'm all set for a great performance!

A credit card has been a common thing in our daily life today. Almost everyone has one, but most of us don't get happy since we applied for our first credit card. The credit is not based on how kind and honest you are. It really means the ability of repaying the money you loaned from the card before. You need to repay the loan on time to prove that you are honest. This makes many people not to be honest. They apply for credit cards in different banks in different dates. In that case，some of them use one credit card to repay another credit card which makes them feel exhausted, because they have to thinking of how to balance their credit cards to make sure each of them can be repayed on time. The worest thing is that most people even don't know where the money from credit cards spend on. If you lose your credit, the law will punish you by limiting your consumption , such as taking planes. Nowadays, credit cards have been evolved to be E-cards on your smart phone. You can purchase anything anytime with your E- credit cards. Of course, the notification about reminding you repay your credit cards later sounds awkward!

Today is the first day again I discipline myself to do what I need and what I really want to do in life. Now I will be a hard-working person, at least much better than my current verson. I am eager to do this challenge like I had never ever tried this before.

Maybe I talked too long about "The Peach Blossom Spring". Later, I dreamt that I had become lost and at the end of a village discovered a nunnery. We search but in vain. Now at midlife and with long experience in the world, I am especially fond of the great poet Tao Yuanming. Like him, we live in a difficult environment characterized by nepotism and corrupt politics. Rulers surround themselves with flatterers, and habitually punish whomever they consider to be suspicious. Long did he feel as if confined by the bars of a cage. Then, one day, he abandoned captivity to come back home. "Life is not all about goals or achievements. It’s about living, right here in this moment, exactly where you are." Watching “Happy Life of Yang Guang”, buying left over vegetables with my parents or having Tofu brains at breakfast stands along the streets in the morning, they do matter.
