とてもきれいでした。 It was very beautiful.

きのう　はじめて　おすしをたべました。I ate sushi for the first time yesterday.
どうでしたか。How was it?
とてもおいしかったです。It was very tasty. 
なっとうはおいしかったですか。Was the natto tasty?
いいえ、おいしくありませんでした。No, it wasn't.
きのうはやすみでしたか。Was there a holiday yesterday?
いいえ、やすみじゃありませんでした。No, it was not a holiday.

ひらがなとカタカナとどちらがむずかしいですか。Which is more difficult, hiragana or katakana?
カタカナのほうがむずかしいです。Katakana is more difficult.
