I think anyone should have the opportunity to learn finance and economics. In 2008, when I was at my last year in high school, I made this decision based on my interest to understand what the TV presenter was saying when mentioning a supposed financial crisis that was happening in the United States. That time I didn't make any idea what was going on in financial markets and how it would impact my life and our lives in the years to come but I already had the curiosity about this topic. In the following years things seemed to be even good in Brazilian economy but only in surface. Despite the strong GDP numbers of 2010, the world economy would be shocked, this time by China, in 2011/12 and commodity prices went down. Since then, Brazil has been alternating between recession and low growth periods. Even the commodity boom started during the pandemic wasn't able to push it back. We still didn't recovery the pre-covid level of production and probably we will face another GDP contraction this year. As almost all over the world, food prices skyrockted and it makes the situation even worse in a moment that unemployment is high and government can't stand with elevated social expenses as were the case in the last two years.
