The picture is so beautiful! On a sunny day last month, I took the picture on a trip (or getaway) to the beach with my family members and friends. The getaway was very fun, especially for my son, because he likes the beach so much.

Bastante bien... you could say "I took it", because you already referred to "the picture". "Trip" is more neutral, while "getaway" lets people know this was special.. something you probably planned and looked forward to.
