    Hi Caxio, This looks like advanced prepositions mostly. 1a. He is looking for a place to live in. = remove the preposition (in) here as it doesn't work with live in this context 1b. He is looking for a place in which to live. = correct - formal 1c. He is looking for a place to live. （?）= correct - see 1a 2a. a good restaurant for Tom to eat at.= correct - meaning Tom would like to be able to eat at this restaurant 2b. a good restaurant at which for Tom to eat. = incorrect Better: a good restaurant for Tom - eating is implied 3a. a good restaurant to eat at. = correct 3b. a good restaurant to eat. = incorrect - unless you are going to eat the restaurant Better: a good restaurant - eating is implied 4. There is somewhere to practice. = correct - meaning a place in which to practice exists (emphasis on is or somewhere) or pointing out where to practice (emphasis on there) 5. There is where to practice. = can be correct if pointing out where to practice Hope this helps.

    So these have a very similar meaning but they have different tones. The first one is friendlier, whereas the second one is more direct and abrupt.

    I am comfortably greeted by the scenes in your video, which is as warmhearted, unequivocal, undemanding and unquestioning as a eulogy because such a scene never exists in China in winter. My English is very limited but I am boldly trying to improve it by "stealing" something that is related to my poor English. So inevitably my English must be full of a lot of errors, which I hope will be corrected by native English speakers.

    Shopping through websites has its own advantages and disadvantages. I will talk about the advantages first. It is a very easy and convenient method of shopping as you do not have to step out of your door and so it saves lots of time on commuting. In fact, the items are likely to get delivered within a couple of days. I found delivery to be one of the best options during the Covid pandemic. It was really helpful. On the other hand, it is very difficult to identify the quality and color of the product that we plan to buy, thus one ends up returning the items many times. Also, we need to spend lots of money on shipping and sometimes it will not get delivered to the correct address and back tracking the order seems more challenging, especially with international purchases. The fun of real time shopping environment is missing too.

    Corrections and improvements :) 1) Regardless of what/ Whatever my friend has said to me so far, I make myself to listen him but he didn't listen to me at all during our phone call. 2) I haven't had a holiday from the office where I work yet, so I can now take holiday for whatever reason. 3) I went to see the doctor yesterday and he asked me to tell him about everything that I ate the day before yesterday. 4) I think that my friend is depressed because whatever I do to make him laugh doesn't compel him to smile.

    In general and very simplified: 1. head for a destination - go in that general direction 2. head to a destination - go to that destination specifically 3. to be headed towards a destination - to be in the process of travelling to that destination

    the Lantern Festival

    Today is the Lantern Festival. I have been looking forward to it but I feel rather sad after watching the Lantern show.
    Sometimes you (can) have high expectations but are disappointed atin the end. Sometimes you are not able to be happy during the your favorite festival.That is life.

    I love the famous poem about the Lantern Festival "青玉案·元夕", especially the last line "众里寻他千百度，蓦然回首，那人却在灯火阑珊处"., but I don't know how to translate it into English.
