    Hi Pentagle. I am learning Spanish, and the best thing for me was listening to radio online out of Madrid. So you might search for a radio online from London or New York City and listen to it daily. The DJs speak clearly because that is their job. They will speak at the pace of a native and will use slang and phrases typical to the area. I listen all day while at work and I keep a notebook beside my laptop and write down little things here and there. Sometimes I'll have questions and then I'll ask a native speaker. Also, don't be afraid to talk to native speakers. Talk to them and ask them to correct you. They won't want to correct you , though, unless you ask. Good luck! Nicolas

    I'm a native speaker, and it sounds odd to me. i think the writer means that "she" is subconsciously watching the speaker, and really desires to understand what he means by listening and watching his body language. The last sentence is hard to understand. The writer means that talking face to face has a lasting effect on the intellectual world of the listener, and the effect would last longer than reading the same words. Unrelated to your question, I would simply comment that communication in person is typically better than by written word. I hope that helps.

    Cuál es común en España: adquisición contratación Hola amigos de italki, Estoy escribiendo un correo a mi equipo en España para explicar quienes son ceritas personas en una foto. Hay una mujer quien es resonsable para todas las compras de la compañía. Es ella la gerente de compras, gerente de adquisiciones, gerente de contratación? En inglés, ella es Procurement Manager.     Hi Vivaldo, Both are correct. "This" could imply close to you and "That" further away, but that is not a hard rule, as I understand. Let's say you have two books on the table and you tell me to read one. I could point to the first one and say "This?" and then the second "Or that one?" So you can say either way. Nicolas

    Birthday of my Father

    Hi guys, today I will talk about the birthday of my dad and about learning English. Of course I know I will make a few mistakes, but I need to do it to improve my vocabulary. Alright, today is my father's birthday and we are going to eat in a great restaurant. Here in Brazil we have lots of great restaurants and I love it. Dad is turning 56 years old, and we are going in my car along with my sister,  my  mom, and my wife.

    Uso de "esto me suena" Hola a todos, Es que no entiendo bien la frase "esto me suena" y el uso de "suena" . Ayer estaba buscando documentos de un pago a un proveedor. El contador me dijo algo como me suena que lo pagué en noviembre. Podríais darme ejemplos con suena? Gracias! Nicolás
