This class would be focussed on checking your current language level and your language objectives.  

A general conversation class will be prepared, focussing principally on improving and developing your speaking and listening skills.

I would give assistance with your vocabulary, expressions, and pronunciation related to the topic of discussion. 

Homework could be given to reinforce the vocabulary and expressions looked at during the class if requested by the student.

Depending on what the student would like to discuss, a class is prepared specifically on general or specific subjects chosen between the teacher and the student, some examples are: travelling, hobbies and interests, your studies, your professional life, the environment, country and city life, technology, changes in society and cultures.....

This is a perfect opportunity for you to practise your conversation and listening skills and to improve vocabulary and typical expressions and idioms.

I will give you feedback, correction and advise. 

Some homework can be included if you would like to reinforce what's been discussed and seen in the class.

Language essentials Speaking & Listening Practice

This course involves a made to measure study plan, according to the needs of each student and can cover areas such as: job interviews and career English; telephone skills; negotiating; meetings; customer service skills; presentations; emails, letters and written correspondence; business communication and management skills;  social and cultural awareness skills; talking about your work/company; describing graphs and financial statements,  making a complaint, amongst others. 

Depending on the student's professional needs and objectives a course can be prepared.  Specialist vocabulary and expressions related to working are covered along with professional skills that are essential nowadays for effective communication. In addition grammar will be covered as and when needed and also pronunciation practise to maximise general fluency.   

As you can see on my profile, I have a specific qualifiation in business English teaching also in career guidance and personal development.

It's possible to book a single class for example to prepare for an important interview / meeting /business trip or to book a package that covers a range of areas as preferred. 

I am very experienced in interview preparation for both academic and professional applications. For thorough preparation, I recommend minimum 3 hours. 

A specialist course in the area of international trade can be organised on request (this service is made-to-measure and is available on request, rates to be agreed).

Children from minimum age of 11 and up to 17. Students need to have had some English classes before they start the course. 

Sorry I do not accept absolute beginners and the children/teenagers must have done some English studies to start and we can work on it to improve further from there.  

We will focus on helping them to improve their speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary skills. Depending on the student's needs and level the teacher will adapt the materials and activities accordingly. 

I use colourful and lively books and stories, videos and exercises from the British Council and other online resources and I adapt the materials depending on the level and preferred learning method, level and progress of the student. 

I also do songs and a variety of games, using flashcards, stuffed animals and real objects to help engage children's imagination and stimulate learning. 

I also do debates and discuss a wide range of topics, doing speaking activities, talking about their daily activities, routines, hobbies, holidays, school life amongst others. 

These classes are for students whose first language is not English. 

The lessons will be interactive and a lot of fun!

Language essentials course from elementary to advanced (A2-C2)

This course is for professionals, students that are studying a technical and/or degree level course, or anyone who has the idea of improving themselves with a view to changing direction professionally or academically in their near and /or medium term future. 

This course can also be adapted to students who would like to practise their English in practical situations related to the world of work and professsional /academic life. 

The course is very flexible and depends on the students needs, profession/areas of study/expertise. Some areas that could be covered (this is not exhaustive): how to create a great team; career related topics like how to do a good interview, talking about your skills and qualities, and bring out the best in yourself; how to negotiate (some typical examples could be example how to improve your working conditions with your personnel manager, how to improve your performance in a meeting with colleagues or your suppliers/customers); transport and logistics; international trade related subjects; how to improve your sales techniques; how to market a product/service better; talking about graphs and analysing data, amongst others. 

The main objectives of the course will also be to boost students’ confidence when speaking and listening to English, and gaining essential vocabulary and expressions related to their field of study/profession.  

The course is made-to-measure so depending on the student's needs and objectives, and the course content and skills to be developed can be adapted.

Normally a minimum of intermediate or above is needed for this course, but if there was a student with lower intermediate level I could adapt the material to the level as needed.

Skills for developing your professional career in English - professional business and career development English teacher

This class is to help you meet your required expectations in practicing for an official English Language Test. IELTS, TOEFL and PET (B1), FCE (B2), CAE (C1), CPE (C2) can all be practiced here with supplementary exercises and practice given by the teacher. 

What is covered on the course? All aspects of the speaking interview are covered, with ideas on how to approach the examiner’s questions. 

I can also help you to improve your range of vocabulary and to learn useful expressions on any topic that can be used in all parts of the academic study test chosen.
Minimum age to access this course 14 years old. 

Please note, I am not an official examiner, although I can help you to prepare the exams.

Test Preparation for IELTS, Cambridge exams, TOEFL...

I studied a combination of European politics, economics and law and I specialised in French and Spanish as my foreign languages.

I put Bachelor above as I couldn't find another appropriate field within the choices given.

I completed a  Master's degree in international trade. We covered some of the following areas: Importation /exportation; Incoterms; International methods of payment; International marketing; International transport...

This is not a bachelor but I didn't see any appropriate field within the options.
I did a Further Certificate for Teachers of Business English, awarded by London Chamber of Commerce.

Academic year 1993 - 1994. Private English courses to Spanish adults combined with extracurricular English classes to children aged 4-12 in a primary school in  Valencia.

I worked in a a freight forwarding company in the sales department for aprox. one and a half years, where I helped the sales reps. to get visits and followed leads from different sources to increase sales. Later I also worked in the sea transport importation department for six months helping to prepare documentation and coordinate the transportation of containers coming from Asia.

I worked as an exportation administrative assistant in a Spanish company that designed, produced and exported lamps. I was responsible for liaising with the production department once an order had been placed and then coordinating the transport and generating paperwork such as invoice, method of payment, and documentation amongst others to send to the client.

I run an agency to send Spanish students abroad to learn languages, I do study, work, aupair, internship, exchange programs. I also give a wide variety of made to measure classes to students in: business English;  conversation English; English for examination preparation; English for the tourism/ hospitality sectors; and international trade (Incoterms).  I also specialise in interview preparation and career and personal development. My students range from aged 11 to adults.

I taught business English to students studying to be international secretaries and students studying a degree in business administration.

I have been giving English classes over the years to students (both teenagers and adults) who want to prepare different official exams, like Cambridge exams (B1, B2, C1 etc) for both the written and oral part. I am also capable of preparing IELTS , TOEFL exams as needed for different levels for oral and written part.

I have had my own business from 1999 to present (September 2024) and during this time I have had a mixture of different students, ranging from children aged 11-17. They were normally either individual classes or very small classes of 2-4 students maximum. We did a wide range of activities such as speaking, playing word games, debating different topics, making stories and or describing pictures, helping with homework, writings, learning new expressions amongst others.

I have been teaching small groups of children/teenagers aged 11-17, doing speaking activities such as discussions, word games, dialogues, debates, exam preparation...I have also given conversation and exam preparation classes to adults, professionals and university students, and also to senior citizens to improve their fluency in English. In addition I have given business English classes to professionals in different sectors over the years.

This is a trial lesson where I can go through with yourself on exactly what to expect with my lessons and what your expectations are for your learning and progress.

I will explain in a nice and simple way the learning objectives of typical lessons and then give you the opportunity to talk and practise by reading, writing, listening and speaking during the lesson. 

The learning objectives will vary from lesson to lesson because the material varies also and the standard of each session too. Also, I will give feedback as well in both written and verbal ways so the student can gain a good understanding. 

At the end of the lesson you can do a little self evaluation by writing down 2 sentences for things that went well in the lesson and 1 sentence where you can do even better. Lets learn happily together! Lets see how much you can learn with me!

This basic English lesson is focussed on the basics of conversational practise in English. We will also practise on reading, writing, listening and speaking - the 4 key areas of English. This is at a beginner level and we will work towards improving the 4 areas gradually. You help myself pick a little article from a range of articles and we both go through it together. Then there are a number of questions to be answered which will test your knowledge and understanding of the material. I also adapt this lesson to the exact requirements of the student which can include a number of things including reading and understanding articles online. This type of lesson has proved the most popular and is in good demand :-)

English Basics for Beginners

This lesson is specifically designed to teach you about Business English which includes and covers the following:
1. The basics of oral communication
2. Writing basic letters within the organisation and externally
3. Interview preparation
4. How to type formal emails to colleagues and management.

Business English

This lesson is based around English Language features including similes, metaphors, onomatopoeia and alliteration. It also comprises of answering foundation, and slightly more intense questions to test your understanding of the content taught; including questions where you have to pick out the features from a paragraph then we discuss your answers and chart your progress session by session. It is mainly geared towards GCSE English (a British qualification) but can also apply to many other qualifications. I cover both AQA and Edexcel exam boards and focus in on exam technique, mainly for year 10 and 11, in order to gain as many marks as possible. We look at past papers and I get students to make an attempt, then provide comprehensive feedback on their writing. We then examine our responses and look at areas where we can write a better answer in order to have a great response to a lengthy question.

Welcome! In our trial lesson, we’ll take time to get to know each other. We’ll have a relaxed conversation so I can understand your expectations and get a sense of your current level, including your strengths and the areas where you’d like to improve.

By the end of the lesson, I’ll walk you through my teaching approach and propose a personalized learning plan designed specifically around your goals. This will give you a clear picture of how we can work together effectively to help you reach your goals.

This class is for students who already have some basic knowledge of English and would like to improve their fluency through real, meaningful conversations.

We can recreate everyday situations—like going to a café, shopping at a market, or chatting about hobbies—or dive into topics you're interested in, whether that's travel, culture, or daily life. The goal is to help you speak more naturally and comfortably, at your own pace.

To guide our conversations, we may use short videos, articles, or discussion prompts. If you have a topic you’d like to explore, feel free to let me know before class, and I’ll adapt the session to your level. Otherwise, I’ll suggest a topic during the lesson.

High Score TOEFL Bootcamp

This is an informal trial class for new students. During the 30 mins, I will gauge your conversational ability and give you tips to improve.

OPTION 1: Conversation Practice (B1-C2)
Together we will practice your conversation skills. I have a variety of topics and activities to encourage you to speak. I provide corrections and offer suggestions for you to improve between lessons.

OPTION 2: English with News Articles + Homework (B1-C1)
In these lessons, we will work with real news articles that are tailored to your level. These articles can be on topics such as climate change, social media, language learning and citizenship.

Prior to the class, I will send you the article for you to read in your own time.
During the class, we will use a shared Google document to identify new vocabulary, improve your understanding of the text and answer discussion questions.
At the same time, I will provide pronunciation corrections and make notes of vocabulary/grammatical errors for you to review after the class.


NOTE:
-Italki does not allow rescheduling or cancellations within 24 hours of the class.
-On days that my schedule is full, the lessons will be 55-58 minutes long (if you book a 1 hour class) so that I can be on time for the next student. However, in general we'll be able to make it to 1 hour.

Conversation Practice OR News Articles (B1-C1) - Packages Available

This class is for children and teenagers aged 8-17 years old (with a minimum A1 level). 
Please check the package price for the discount.

I have designed this complete curriculum using resources from Cambridge, Oxford and my own materials. Step by step, your children will be able to speak about a range of topics in English. Vocabulary will be introduced and grammatical structures will be reinforced through fun games and activities.

This class will use a Google document and screen sharing. This way, we will both be able to see the images. You will also be able to see what your children are learning.

Recommendations:
- 30-minute lessons are the ideal length for younger students
- The student should have at least some level of English to begin with for the class to be valuable. I can teach complete beginners from Spanish.
- On days that my schedule is full, the lessons may be 25/45/55 minutes long so that I can be on time for the next student. However, in general we'll be able to complete the full class time.
