In this trial lesson we can go over your personal goals in language learning and discuss how we can achieve them according to your level, needs, and learning preferences. My main focus in both trial lessons and regular lessons is conversation practice with a focus on idiomatic speech (speech that flows and sounds natural to native speakers), but we can also practice pronunciation and grammar as we go along if needed. This is a stress-free environment to grow your confidence and skillset, and I would love to just get to know you and understand how to best support you in your language learning endeavors. These classes are for all levels, and I will adjust my approach to your current needs. In these lessons we can start to grow your vocabulary (the words you know), strengthen pronunciation (the way you say the words out loud), and learn more natural ways to express yourself in English (idioms, phrases, metaphors, etc.). We will do this mainly through conversation, but I may send you a video or text as a listening/reading exercise if you would like. We can go as fast or as slow as you need. We can cover many different topics or focus on the specifics of just one- it is all up to you and how you feel comfortable. Conversation Practice with a Focus on Idiomatic Speech

(Note: This class option is only for those who have booked classes before 2024, meaning have already taken or booked a class with me before this date. If you are a first-time student, please select the first class option.)

If you are a more experienced English learner, we will try to stretch your skills and take the lessons at a quicker pace that will feel more challenging. We will do this mainly through conversation, but I may send you a video or text as a listening/reading exercise if you would like. We can go as fast or as slow as you need. We can cover many different topics or focus on the specifics of just one- it is all up to you and how you feel comfortable. (For students who have previously booked lessons BEFORE 2024) Conversation Practice with a Focus on Idiomatic Speech

This class option is for those who will receive corrections and feedback for written work in English (500-2000 words). Writing is a deep passion of mine and I firmly believe that it is one of the most powerful and enduring methods to reach the hearts and souls of the masses around the world with the messages and stories we have to share. It is furthermore a necessity in any academic and professional setting, not to mention a useful exercise to further stretch our language skills. Although many wonderful tools exist in this age of technology to help us check grammar and spelling, such AI lack the intuitive understanding of language that we humans posses. If you're looking for support beyond what AI can provide, I can read over your writing, adding notes and suggestions as I go in order to improve flow, sentence structure, vocabulary- usage, and overall organization. I will send your writing back with the notes/revisions marked in a document for you to look over, and we can then discuss the feedback in more depth when we meet during the scheduled lesson time. If for any reason you only want your writing returned without attending the lesson time, please just message me and let me know. (PLEASE NOTE: I will not be re-writing your work and returning a finished product. The point of this exercise is to help you identify your strengths/weaknesses and improve your skills so that you are able to write independently and confidently in English. I will provide detailed notes and suggestions to allow you to re-structure your work into clearer and more organized writing, as well as to write better in future projects. You must develop your own sense for writing in English, and this will not come if you merely have a native speaker re-do your work. I want to help you express your ideas through writing by yourself and be proud of your efforts!)
