Join me for a 30-minute introduction lesson or a taster of one of the lessons I provide.  This is a trial class for all levels.  

We usually do a few activities so I can see what I can do to help you.  If you would like, though, you can tell me what you would like to practise in our short lesson.  For example, we could pick an area of grammar such as English tenses and I can help you to practise and develop your skills; or we can choose a topic to talk about or have a "free conversation". 

We can also discuss what kind of help you might need with English.   This will help me to prepare future lessons just for you.

Do you sometimes wonder which tense to use?  Do you get confused? 
For example, is it:  have / had / have been / had been / have been doing / will have done / will have been doing?  🤷 

These are special lessons to help you become more confident with English tenses / times. I have a lot of experience to help you to practise using a variety of English tenses and to feel more confident!   

We will practise a combination of activities to achieve this: fluency practice with a specific grammar focus; and accuracy practice to help you speak correctly.  I do not just do free conversation lessons but I will support you to develop your skills in a structured and progressive way. 

I have a lot experience teaching grammar and in this lesson (or lesson package) I will help you to use a range of verb forms to talk about the past, present and future.   

We can practise:

✔ past simple, continuous, perfect, 'used to'
✔ future simple, continuous, perfect, 'going to', 'will'
✔ conditionals (zero, first, second, third, mixed)

I have created many materials to help you and to practise!  I recommend 5 x 60 min. lessons for a good review of all the tenses (or 10 x 30 min.). 

This lesson can be flexible.  Please feel free to mention a specific area of difficulty you might have with English tenses for a one-off lesson or we can work through them progressively in a lesson package.  I can adapt the lesson(s) to suit your needs.

1) Use English Verb Tenses More Confidently (1 Lesson or 5 Lesson Review)

Have you studied English for many years ...but you don't feel confident speaking?  Do you want to practise talking about specific topics or general conversation?   I can help!

I have a lot of experience helping my students to speak with more fluency and accuracy. I can help you to sound more natural.

 I have a lot of materials and ideas to help you and support you.  We can focus on a different topic each lesson, such as: travel, childhood, the environment, work or anything at all!

These lessons are not for young children, as this requires a different approach.

2) Essential Conversation Practice

Do you need to give a presentation, speak in a meeting, or participate in a conference?  I have a lot of experience helping learners of all levels with these skills. I also give speeches in English and Spanish, so I understand the challenges, and how to overcome them.

Book a lesson and we can develop a plan.  I have the materials and experience to support you.

3) Public Speaking Support

These lessons are based on real news articles online (different article based on your level of English).  I often use articles from 'The Week' UK, a weekly news magazine or https://www.bbc.co.uk/news.  

📰 We can talk about the topic first, learning new words.  
📰 Then we read and discuss parts of a text, focusing on important vocabulary and comprehension.  It is a very interesting way to practise together. 

This lesson will help you to understand real articles and give you an opportunity to speak about topical subjects.  You will develop your speaking skills and reading comprehension.

I will help you with grammar and pronunciation while we work together.  I have a lot of experience teaching speaking and grammar. 

We can use an article on topics that interest you or I can surprise you with a subject. These lessons are very interesting for me and for you!

4) Let's Talk About The News

I have a lot of experience teaching teenagers and children (8 years and older). Therefore, I can help your child to develop his/her language skills, and grow in confidence.

5) English Lessons for Children & Teenagers

In these lessons, I will help you with your pronunciation.  I have specific activities to help train your ability to speak more clearly, so you can be understood and feel confident. 

I can help you with specific sounds (English phonetics), word and sentence stress, and linking sounds together.

6) Pronunciation Support

I completed the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (Trinity College London), at a college in Coventry. It taught me the skills and knowledge to take my first teaching job. I gained teaching experience with real learners, language awareness including grammar and phonology, and much knowledge of teaching techniques to help teaching English to different levels. I also had experience being taught an unknown language (Japanese) to help me understand how it feels. Coventry,

I taught teenagers from many different countries, preparing them for City & Guilds ESOL exams from beginner to advanced level.  I was responsible for the course.

I worked as an ESOL Resource Specialist, (freelance). I prepared quality lesson plans and online teaching tools that have been used and appreciated by many teachers and students. I developed materials for various British Council projects including ESOL Nexus, Offender Learning & Anniversaries Project.

I worked as a lecturer and course organiser for a large college in England. I worked with refugees and international students, preparing them for exams such as IELTS and City & Guilds Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I was given much teacher training and development while working here.

I have been teaching adults and children online since 2017.  I have experience of teaching one-to-one and groups, from beginner level to advanced.  I like teaching grammar, vocabulary and reading skills.  I can do free conversations classes or specific lessons on topics of choice.
