Started my teaching career in high school: for four years, I taught high school students (aged 16-18) in Gyeonggi province, Korea. Back then, I was a quite young and passionate teacher. 3. As a Korean teacher in HK and SG: with great chances, I happened to meet various students who wanted to learn Korean for various reasons. When we learn a language, I don’t think we are creating something completely new. Most of the time, we are simply recalling and reusing things we have heard before. That’s why repetition is naturally very important. My job is to find ways to make that repetition effective without making it boring. Each student receives homework tailored to their needs, including high-quality personalized audio recordings. With this homework, my students can practice reading, writing, and listening together, which makes a big difference. I usually don’t leave written feedback after class. If something needs to be discussed, I prefer to talk about it during the lesson.

I'm a TESOL-qualified teacher. Just before coming to Milan, I got a degree and a certificate in teaching Korean to foreigners. In Milan, I taught Korean at Universita Della Terza eta. My first students were beginners without knowing even the Korean alphabet. Most of all they were busy and could spend only one hour a week. After 4 times they could read and talk in Korean. On returning to Korea, I started to teach Korean at Yongsan Library. During my doctoral course, I taught a graduate student preparing TOPIK. She achieved a high score.
