I hope that my ideas will encourage you to approach language learning with an open mind and to take control of the learning process more into your own hands. A good teacher can be a wonderful guide, yet we learn the most when we can continue learning outside of the classroom.

みなさん、こんにちは。
今日は8月17日です。私の誕生日（たんじょうび）です。SNSの利用（りよう）が増（ふ）えてからは、友人（ゆうじん）が誕生日になるとメッセージをくれます。何年（なんねん）も会（あ）っていない友人でも、誕生日のときに連絡をくれるのは、とてもうれしいです。

昨日（きのう）のレッスンで「明日（あした）は、わたしの誕生日なんです」と言（い）ったら、「のぞみ先生、わたしも誕生日です」と。えー、なんて偶然（ぐうぜん）なのと、驚（おどろ）きました。そして、お互（たが）いに「お誕生日おめでとう」っと言ってお祝（いわ）いをしました。

今年（ことし）の誕生日で一番（いちばん）うれしかったことは、主人がサプライズでプレゼントをくれたことです。いつもは、何のプレゼントもなく、おいしそうなケーキを買（か）ってきて、家族（かぞく）で食べるってのが恒例（こうれい）の誕生日なんです。でも今年は、昨日（きのう）急（きゅう）に「誕生日プレゼントあげる」と言って、主人がペンダントをくれました。感動！！女ってというのは、物に弱いのでしょうか。このペンダントひとつで、今までの日々の文句がふっとんでしまいました。なんと「現金なわたし」「単純なわたし」なんでしょうか。
物をもらったから今までのことを許（ゆる）してもいいのでしょうか。いやいや、そうではないです。一応（いちおう）、主人（しゅじん）も私の苦労（くろう）を知っていたから、感謝（かんしゃ）の気持（きも）ちを込（こ）めて買ってくれたのだろうと思います。
いつになっても誕生日プレゼントをもらうのは、うれしいですね。
同じ誕生日の人、おめでとうございます。いい日でありますように。
