Phonics Long Vowels and Consonant Blends

Long vowels ue

Merryl goes to the mechanic to get his car fixed, and he can't remember what the different car parts are called. The mechanic helps him out.

Car Vocabulary: 
Windshield- the glass at the front of the car
Windshield wipers- rubber pieces that move back and forth to remove water or snow off the windshield
Fluid: a liquid
Coolant: a fluid that cools something down, used in cars
Oil change: removing old oil and putting clean oil in a car
Rearview mirror: a mirror in the back of a car, shows the area behind car
Trunk lid: The trunk is the storage area at the back of the car. The lid is the cover.
Headlight: the light at the front of the car
Blinkers: lights that flash on and off as a signal to let others know when your car will make a turn

ɡēnɡ léi shì ɡǔ shí hòu wèi ɡuó yǒu mínɡ de shè jiàn nénɡ shǒu。  
更羸是古时候魏国有名的射箭能手。
yǒu yì tiān，ɡēnɡ léi ɡēn wèi wánɡ dào jiāo wài dǎ liè。 
有一天，更羸跟魏王到郊外打猎。
yì zhī dà yàn cónɡ yuǎn chù màn màn de fēi lái， 
一只大雁从远处慢慢地飞来，
biān fēi biān mínɡ。 
边飞边鸣。
ɡēnɡ léi zǐ xì kàn le kàn， 
更羸仔细看了看，
zhǐ zhe dà yàn duì wèi wánɡ shuō： 
指着大雁对魏王说：
“dà wánɡ，wǒ bú yònɡ jiàn， 
“大王，我不用箭，
zhǐ yào lā yí xià ɡōnɡ， 
只要拉一下弓，
zhè zhī dà yàn jiù nénɡ diào xià lái。” 
这只大雁就能掉下来。” 
wèi wánɡ bù xiānɡ xìn。 
魏王不相信。
ɡēnɡ léi shuō：“qǐnɡ rànɡ wǒ shì yí xià。” 
更羸说：“请让我试一下。”
ɡēnɡ léi bìnɡ bù qǔ jiàn， 
更羸并不取箭，
tā zuǒ shǒu ná ɡōnɡ，yòu shǒu lā xián， 
他左手拿弓，右手拉弦，
zhǐ tīnɡ dé“bēnɡ”de yì shēnɡ xiǎnɡ， 
只听得“嘣”的一声响，
nà zhī dà yàn zhǐ wǎnɡ shànɡ fēi， 
那只大雁只往上飞，
pāi le liǎnɡ xià chì bǎnɡ， 
拍了两下翅膀，
hū rán cónɡ bàn kōnɡ lǐ zhí diào xià lái。
忽然从半空里直掉下来。  
wèi wánɡ kàn le，dà chī yì jīnɡ。 
魏王看了，大吃一惊。  
ɡēnɡ léi jiě shì shuō：“zhè zhǐ niǎo fēi dé màn， 
更羸解释说：“这只鸟飞得慢，
jiào de shēnɡ yīn hěn bēi cǎn。 
叫的声音很悲惨。
fēi dé màn，yīn wéi tā shòu ɡuò jiàn shānɡ，shānɡ kǒu méi yǒu hǎo； 
飞得慢，因为它受过箭伤，伤口没有好；
jiào de bēi cǎn，yīn wéi tā lí kāi tónɡ bàn，dé bú dào bānɡ zhù。 
叫得悲惨，因为它离开同伴，得不到帮助。
tā yì tīnɡ dào xián xiǎnɡ，xīn lǐ hěn hài pà， 
它一听到弦响，心里很害怕，
jiù pīn mìnɡ wǎnɡ ɡāo chù fēi。 
就拼命往高处飞。

13. The Great Escape for real?! (신개념 예능 “대탈출”)

لم تكن تعرف لمن تكتب.
ولا إن كانت رسالتها ستصل.

جلست قرب النافذة،
والليل ثقيل،
والصمت متقطّع بأصوات القصف.

منذ سنوات،
والحرب لا تغادر المكان.
قصفٌ متكرر،
وبيوت تهدمت،
وخوفٌ صار جزءًا من اليوم.

أمسكت قلمًا،
وورقة كانت في حقيبة طفلها.

وكتبت:

“أنا أم من الغوطة.
أكتب لأن الحرب
وقصف نظام الأسد
سرقا منّا أشياء كثيرة،
لكنهما لم يأخذا صوتي.”

قالت إن أبناءها ينامون متلاصقين،
ليس خوفًا فقط،
بل لأن الأمان صار نادرًا.

قالت:

“أعدّ أنفاسهم كل ليلة،
بعد كل غارة،
وكأنني أطمئن نفسي
أن الغد ما زال ممكنًا.”

تحدّثت عن صباحات بلا مدارس،
أغلقتها الحرب،
وعن دفاتر تحوّلت إلى أوراق للرسم،
وعن ضحكة صغيرة
تظهر فجأة…
فتُنقذ اليوم كله.

كتبت:

“أخاف عليهم من القصف،
لكنني أبتسم أمامهم.
لأن الأم
يجب أن تبدو أقوى
مما تشعر.”

لم تكتب عن السياسة،
بل عن أثرها.
عن الخبز القليل،
عن الماء المحسوب،
عن الانتظار الطويل.

ثم أضافت في آخر الرسالة:

“إذا قرأتَ هذه الكلمات،
فتذكّر أن ما يحدث هنا
حربًا
وتذكّر أننا أمهات
نحلم فقط
أن يكبر أطفالنا…
بسلام.”

لم توقّع باسمها.
لم تذكر تاريخًا.

لكن الرسالة بقيت.
مثل الغوطة…
تحت القصف،
لكنها لم تصمت.

LAS GRUTAS DE XTACUMBILXUNAÁN, CAMPECHE MÉXICO.

Las grutas de Xtacumbilxuna’an, también conocidas como las grutas de la “Mujer escondida” se localizan en el ejido de Bolonchén de Rejón en el municipio de Hopelchén, Campeche.

Pese a que el recorrido es corto, en su interior puedes ver diversas formaciones de estalactitas y estalacmitas que se han formado a través de varios años.

A diferencia de otras grutas- como las de Cristal en Tekax, Yucatán– las de Xtacumbilxuna’an son aptas para toda la familia. Su recorrido durará el tiempo que decidas permanecer en ellas aunque el tiempo estimado es entre 40  minutos y una hora.

Dentro de las grutas podrás disfrutar de un camino  iluminado con diferentes colores que van cambiando durante tu recorrido. Ya sea que escuches la explicación de algún guía o bien escuches el sonido ambiental que han adaptado para este recorrido.

Para llegar recorrer este atractivo tendrás que descender por una escalera de concreto con un barandal hecho del mismo material. Si así lo decidieras podrá acompañarte un guía para explicarte la leyenda y el origen del nombre de las grutas, así como algunos sucesos o experiencias que han tenido algunos visitantes en el lugar.

Estas grutas eran consideradas un lugar sagrado por los mayas. Según cuenta la leyenda Lol-Be (flor del camino), la joven hija de Timot fue escondida en estas cuevas para evitar una relación amorosa con un joven llamado Dzulin. Éste finalmente la encuentra, pero debido a una promesa hecha por Lol-be a su madre Lol-Ha (flor de agua), quien finalmente muere, decide regresar a las cuevas y tomar forma de una mujer con un niño en brazos para convertirse en piedra. Esta figura es claramente identificada por todos los visitantes.
