La vera pizza napoletana è riconoscibile per la sua base sottile e soffice, cotta in forno a legna a temperature elevate per ottenere una crosta croccante e un centro morbido. I condimenti tipici includono pomodoro, mozzarella di bufala, basilico fresco e olio d'oliva.

Oggi, la pizza ha assunto molte varianti, come la pizza margherita, con il suo mix di sapori semplici e autentici, o la pizza marinara, che esalta l'aroma degli ingredienti di base come l'aglio e l'origano. Inoltre, ci sono pizze gourmet con combinazioni creative di ingredienti come prosciutto, funghi, rucola e formaggi speciali.
