A lot of my students make mistakes in the Past Simple when they're having a conversation. I think this is so unnecessary because it really is simple. To be fluent in English, you need to go back to the simple tenses and learn them really well. Build the foundation of your English speaking on a strong Past Simple and Present Simple foundation. As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know already, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practice until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

wǒ yǐ qián de jiā hěn xiǎo 。
My former home was very small.
只有一个房间。
zhǐ yǒu yí gè fáng jiān 。
There was only one room.
上个星期我搬家了。
shàng gè xīng qī wǒ bān jiā le 。
I moved house last week.
新家有三个房间。
xīn jiā yǒu sān gè fáng jiān 。
There are 3 rooms at the new house.
一个是我的卧室，一个是书房，还有一个是客房。

Hari ini saya punya cerita menarik! Hari Jumat minggu lalu, waktu bertemu dengan salah satu murid saya, saya bilang “Di Indonesia, banyak polisi tidur di jalan loh”. Terus, murid saya bingung, “Polisi tidur di jalan? Untuk apa? Itu sangat bahaya kan!” Dia kaget banget! 
Ya, ya, “Polisi tidur” di Bahasa Inggris artinya “speed bump”, tapi saya pikir di Jepang tidak ada polisi tidur ya, jadi artinya polisi tidur adalah 車の速度を落とさせるための道路上の段差のこと。Menarik kan! 
Di Indonesia, biasanya di area yang ada sekolah atau di jalanan kecil, banyak polisi tidur. Kadang-kadang ada 4, 5 polisi tidur. Jadi, kalau kalian pergi ke Indonesia, jangan kaget melihat banyak polisi tidur di jalan. Hehe.. Ok, Sampai di sini ya. Sampai jumpa lagi!

Japanese daily life podcast のAtsushiです。
このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

今日は、配達について。

日本の配達について話します。
みなさんの国では、荷物が届くのは早いですか？
遅いですか？

日本は荷物が届くのがとても早いと思います。
住んでいる場所によりますが、Amazonプライムのサービスだと東京では、午前中に注文したものが当日、その日のことですね、当日に届くサービスもあるようです。あとは翌日配送とかもできます。それから日時指定もできますね。何日の何時から何時までとか選ぶことができますね。日にちは当日から1週間ぐらい先まで選べます。時間も会社によりますが、午前中、12-14時14-16時とか、今から在宅など、本当に細かく選択ができます。

配送方法にも選択肢が広がっています。
以前は直接の受け渡しがほとんどでしたが、家によっては宅配ボックスがあり、不在の時でもそこで受け取りができるサービスもありますし、最近では、玄関先に置いておいてもらう、置き配、というサービスもありますね。

これだけ便利なシステムですが、一方でもちろん良くないこともあります。1人1人のニーズに合わせすぎる為に、配達の仕事がとても大変な仕事になっています。不在の場合や、宅配ボックスがいっぱいの時は、配送会社の人は荷物を持ち帰らないといけないです。そんなこともあり、とても非効率になる時もあります。


日本は消費者が強すぎるので、会社も消費者に対して下からになりますし、消費者も上からになるようなところがあります。もう少しフラットな関係になると、サービスももっと柔軟なものになり、働く人にとっても、消費者にとっても良いものになるかもしれないですね。


ということで、ちょっと話がそれましたが、今日は日本の配送はびっくりするぐらい便利です！という話でした。
