Descrizione
Many learners use "will" for every future idea: "Tomorrow I will go to the dentist at ten." It is understood, but it sounds like a sudden decision, not a plan already in the calendar. Some languages simply use the present tense for the future, so learners say "I call you later," which sounds unfinished. Americans actually use four main future forms, each with its own job. In this episode: • Will: decisions, offers and promises • Going to (gonna): plans and clear signs • Present continuous: fixed arrangements • About to, probably, and i'll versus i'm gonna • Scene: planning the weekend • Practice • Self-check questions with answers Key phrases from this episode: The phone's ringing.
