Phrasal Verbs IV: Run, Hang, Work Out, Sort Out and How to Learn Them | Real American English #147
Descrizione
There are thousands of phrasal verbs, and learners often try to memorize them as a long, random list. Many also translate a single formal verb from their own language and say "I met my neighbor by accident" or "We have no more milk" where Americans say "I ran into my neighbor" and "We ran out of milk." Today you learn more than 40 high-frequency items, the three types of phrasal verbs, and a smarter way to learn them by the meaning of the small word.
In this episode:
• Run and hang
• Work out and sort out
• Places, forms and people
• Three types of phrasal verbs
• How to learn them: by particle meaning
• Practice
• Self-check questions with answers
