As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know alreay, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practise until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

In questo episodio vedremo la storia dell'università di Bologna che è considerata l'università più antica dell'Europa. Ancora oggi Bologna è una città piena di vita e di studenti dove l'università ha un ruolo molto importante.

Testo: 

L’università di Bologna è la più antica università del mondo. Ha quasi 1000 anni. Nasce infatti nel 1088.  Dopo l'università di Bologna, nel 1096 nasce l'università di Oxford nel Regno Unito e nel 1170 l'università di Parigi in Francia. Da quel momento in poi l’università ha un grande sviluppo soprattutto in Italia e Bologna diventa un modello per tutte. A Bologna all'inizio sono gli studenti a scegliere e a pagare i maestri più prestigiosi1, che a volte vengono anche da città lontane. Di conseguenza solo i ragazzi più ricchi possono studiare. I maestri più stimati guadagnano tanto e possono diventare molto famosi.  Gli studenti sono solo maschi, perché a quel tempo le donne non possono studiare, arrivano a Bologna anche da lontano e cercano alloggio, cibo e divertimenti per il loro tempo libero. Grazie alla presenza della sua università, Bologna diventa il centro più importante dell’Emilia Romagna e passa alla storia come “Bologna la Dotta”, che vuol dire la sapiente. All'università le lezioni sono in latino, perché nel Medioevo il latino è la lingua della cultura....

After 15 months, three Israeli hostages have left Hamas captivity as a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took hold on the morning of January 19.

Dozens of Palestinian prisoners also walked free from Israeli jail as the skies above Gaza and Israel were silent for the first time in over a year, stirring modest hopes for ending the Israel-Hamas war.

The ceasefire deal, with an initial phase lasting six weeks, calls for the entry into Gaza of 600 trucks carrying humanitarian relief daily. Over the course of the deal's first stage, 33 Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity in Gaza will also be released in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Many Israelis stayed glued to TV screens to glimpse the three hostages — Emily Damari, Romi Gonen and Doron Steinbrecher — being released as militants handed them over to the Red Cross on a packed street in Gaza City.

In videos released by the Israeli government, the women were seen weeping and hugging family members. Damari raised a bandaged hand in triumph.

The military said she lost two fingers in the Hamas-led militant attack on October 7, 2023, that killed over 1,200 people and resulted in the abduction of some 250 others.

Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, crowds flooded the streets around 1 a.m. on January 20 as white buses carrying 90 Palestinian detainees — all women or teens — exited the gates of Ofer prison.

Fireworks erupted, and several men climbed atop one of the buses to raise Hamas flags.

All of those being released had been detained for what Israel called offenses related to its security, from throwing stones and promoting violence on social media to more serious accusations such as attempted murder.

Khalida Jarrar, one of the freed detainees, told The Associated Press: "There's this double feeling we're living in, on the one hand, this feeling of freedom, that we thank everyone for, and on the other hand, this pain, of losing so many Palestinian martyrs."

Gaza Ceasefire Brings Exchange of Prisoners and Hostages

El nopal es una planta cactácea de origen mexicano que tiene múltiples beneficios para la salud. 

El nopal es una planta que pertenece a la familia de las cactáceas. Su uso se remonta al periodo prehispánico. Y tiene distintos usos desde el gastronómico hasta el medicinal.

El nopal -o nopalli– es una planta mexicana que pertenece a la familia de las cactáceas. También es conocido comúnmente como palera o chumbera aunque su nombre científico es Opuntia ficus-indica. Este último nombramiento hace alusión a un pueblo griego llamado Opus u Opuncia y se le otorgó porque se cree que en este sitio existía una planta similar al nopal.

El nopal, de textura dura, color verde y cuerpo espinoso, se encuentra desde el norte hasta el centro de México. En nuestro país existen más de 100 especies de esta cactácea. Cabe señalar que es consumido y utilizado desde la época prehispánica debido a sus múltiples beneficios medicinales y, por supuesto, a su delicioso sabor.

Por ejemplo, en ese entonces se empleaba como auxiliar en el tratamiento de enfermedades de la piel. También era útil para curar pequeñas quemaduras, contusiones e incluso golpes y otras heridas generadas por las guerras.
