Hoy vamos a hablar sobre motivos, algunos motivos por los cuales no es conveniente en absoluto apostar el dinero al azar jugando a la lotería. Y para empezar, te recomiendo tener a mano lápiz y papel para ir tomando nota.

A fin de tener una primera referencia, vamos a usar el ejemplo de la Lotería de Navidad de España o de la Lotería de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires de Argentina. 
En estos sorteos, hay 100.000 billetes numerados y sólo uno de ellos ganará el premio más importante. Si calculamos el porcentaje, la probabilidad de ganar estos premios es del 0,001%.

Y por ejemplo, la probabilidad de morir alcanzado por un rayo es de aproximadamente 1 en 15300, es decir, un 0,006%.
O sea, es 6 veces más probable perder la vida a causa de un rayo que ganar estas loterías. 

Ahora vayamos a otro ejemplo. Según estadísticas oficiales de Australia, la probabilidad de morir en un accidente vehicular en dicho país es del 0,015%. Mientras que, según la web de Gambler’s Help del mismo país, la probabilidad de ganar el premio mayor en las máquinas de pocker es de 1 en más de 9 millones. O sea, es 1350 veces más probable tener un accidente de tránsito en este país que ser ganador de un juego de azar.

Y para continuar mencionando otros hechos, según un estudio realizado por la Universidad de Harvard y el Banco Asiático de Desarrollo, alrededor del 6,7% de la población mundial tiene un título universitario. Esto significa incluso que es casi 7000 veces más probable estudiar en una institución universitaria y luego de unos años conseguir un título académico, que ganar la lotería. 

Situándonos en otro contexto, según un artículo de la BBC News, las posibilidades de morir en un accidente de cohete espacial son de 1 entre 65, lo cual resulta en un 1,54%. Amigos, con esto queremos decir que es mucho más probable morirse en un vehículo espacial que ganar la lotería.
