   a. Level playing field - A fair and equal competition or situation.
      Example: "

The new rules ensure a level playing field for all participants."
   b. Throw in the towel - To give up or surrender.
      Example: "After the continuous setbacks, she finally threw in the towel."
   c. Play ball - To cooperate or participate willingly.
      Example: "If we want to achieve success, we all need to play ball and work together."
   d. Offside - In an unauthorized or disadvantageous position.
      Example: "The goal was disallowed due to the player being offside."
   e. Hit it out of the park - To achieve great success or accomplish something outstanding.
      Example: "Her presentation hit it out of the park and impressed everyone in the room."

随机应变suí jī yìng biàn，就是根据实际情况而变化， To adjust according to situation。孙子认为一个
Suí jī yìng biàn (to adjust one’s approach according to the actual situation). Sun Tzu believed that 
好的将军如果不懂得变化，总是坚持以前的作战计划，他有再好的条件也不能赢。
a competent general who fails to adapt and rigidly adheres to pre-set battle plans cannot achieve victory, no matter how favorable his conditions are.
举个例子，一个老板开了一家糖果店，他发现有游客到他的店里买糖果，他就把糖果制作成小包装。游客见到精美的礼盒，就忍不住多买几份，于是老板赚了很多钱。
Take an example: a shopkeeper ran a candy store. When he noticed that tourists were visiting his shop to buy candies, he repackaged the candies into small, exquisite gift boxes. Seeing these fancy boxes, the tourists couldn’t help buying several more portions, and the shopkeeper made a handsome profit.

おはようございます。日本語だんたんポットキャストのゆかりです。

突然(とつぜん)ですが、

みなさんは、自分(じぶん)のことを

日本語でなんと言っていますか？

たとえば、私(わたし)、
ぼく、おれ、などがありますね。

どの言葉(ことば)を使うかによって、イメージがちがいます。

今週(こんしゅう)は、
そんな話をしようと思います。

今日は、私が自分のことをなんと言うか、
お話しますね。

まず、いまは、私は【私】を使います。

でも、こどものときは、ちがいました。

小さいころ‥

たぶん、小学生のはじめのことは、自分のことを名前(なまえ)で言っていました。

しかも"ちゃん"付けで‥ふふ。

たとえば、お母さんに、

「ゆかりちゃん、いまからセーラームーンをみるね。」

とか、

「まだ、おなかすいてないから、
ゆかりちゃんのごはんはいらない。」

とか。

いま、自分で言っていて、めっちゃはずかしいです。

昔(むかし)の話ですよ！

そのあと、私は自分の名前から、
【ウチ】にかわりました。

これは、関西(かんさい)の人がよくつかうかな？

たとえば、学校の友達(ともだち)に、

「あ、今日ウチ、アルバイトあるから、早めに帰るね。」

などと、言っていました。

ただ、これは友達との会話(かいわ)です。

先生や大人の人と話すときは、
"私(わたし)"と言うようになりました。

そして、会社で働くようになってから、
もうひとつ、言い方がふえました。

それは、【私(わたくし)】です。

漢字(かんじ)は私と同じですね。

私(わたくし)は、お客様と話すときに使いました。

たとえば、

"はい、私(わたくし)が、お持ちします。
お席(せき)でお待ちください。"

と言います。

さて、どうでしょうか？

自分のことを名前で言う、
ウチ、私、私(わたくし)などと、
変わってきましたね。

イメージは伝わりましたか？

次回は、【ぼく】と【おれ】について、お話します。
